Soil Scientist | Agricultural Stewardship | Climate Change | Biochar

I am a soil scientist at Cornell University and program coordinator for the New York Soil Health Initiative. I conduct applied research and coordinate extension activities to assist farmers in adopting more sustainable soil management practices that improve farm productivity and resiliency to the impacts of climate change. Since joining the Cornell Soil Health team in 2022 I have been leading efforts in quantifying and interpreting soil health in perennial fruit crop systems as well as increasing awareness of and the utilization of biochar and other organic amendments on farms. Prior to joining the soil health team I worked directly with farmers on Long Island, NY to reduce nutrient and pesticide inputs from agricultural lands to surface and groundwater by encouraging the adoption of best management practices and regenerative agriculture principles.
