Started my biochar journey in 2015, testing biochar on pineapple and plantain systems and building TLUD in the Peruvian Amazon. Between 2016 and 2018, I designed and build small scale biochar producing cookstoves in Burkina Faso for small holder farmers and went back to the Peruvian Amazon to lead the production of biochar for a reforestation project. In 2019, I started a PhD during which I applied the tool of LCA to expose limits and caveats of location specific CDR practices, including biochar. I am now a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia, looking at the climate change mitigation potential of forest harvest residue derived biochar over the province.
