I am an Uruguayan agronomist settled in the US, where I specialized in mechanical engineering and renewable technologies.I developed and patented a pyrolysis technology in which, through the thermal decomposition of organic waste at high temperatures and in the absence or limitation of oxygen, it produces Biochar or Biocharcoal. This carbon-rich product retains the original highly porous structure, which holds water and nutrients and houses microorganisms. When incorporated into the soil, it improves its structure and fertility, making it more resilient to climate change. At a time when the need for climate action is more urgent than ever, biochar represents a promising solution that can help reduce emissions, sequester CO2 in the soil for centuries, and build more resilient and sustainable ecosystems.
